Nasso Raise the Heads – Sotah - The Hiding or Wayward Wife

Numbers 4:21 - 7:89

Judges 13:2–25

John 3–4

This Scripture portion begins with the completing of the head-count of the Children of Israel taken in the Sinai Desert, a total of 8,580 Levite men between the ages of 30 and 50 are counted in a tally of those who will be doing the actual work of transporting theTabernacle. These jobs are very specific to each family group. Yahweh goes on to tell them that they should be mindful to not even look on at the other family to see what they are doing so that they would not die. Seems that Father is telling them to pay attention to what He has given each of them to do and not to look because looking can cause one to stumble especially if they were not called to that particular work. This is definitely relevant to today. We all have an assignment and should stay in the realm of that work; too many times being in ministry I see people paying such close attention to some else’s assignment that they falter in their own therefore not completing the work that Yahweh called them to.Let’s continue as Yahweh communicates to Moses the law of the "Sotah", the wayward or hiding wifesuspected of unfaithfulness to her husband. This is powerful in its deeper understanding of who the bride is. The first bride is the unrighteous bride committing adultery and making her husband jealous through whoredom with another man. The illustration is of a righteous bride and an unrighteous bride:

Numbers 5:23 ‘And the priest shall write these curses in a book, and shall wipe them off into the bitter water, Unrighteous Bride:Numbers 5:27 ‘And when he has made her drink the water, then it shall be, if she has defiled herself and has committed a trespass against her husband, that the water that brings the curse shall enter her and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall waste away, and the woman shall become a curse among her people.  Righteous Bride:Numbers 5:28 ‘But if the woman has not defiled herself, and is clean, then she shall be clear and shall conceive children.

The Righteousness of the woman has to be proven. She must not have defiled herself with other men for her belly to not swell and her thigh not rot. I get concerned that people don’t understand Righteousness. Yahweh is clear about the Righteous walk and we as His people get to walk it out. Now us receiving Salvation is through Yahshuah HaMoshiach (Jesus our Messiah) only as He is the Blood Covenant that covers us and brings us back to our original place in the Most High, but once we are brought near as stated in Ephesians 2 by the Blood of Messiah we are no longer to walk contrary to Yahweh’s Word, but we are to walk in sync with it, so when the enemy comes and accuses us of unrighteousness Messiah Yahshuah can declare us righteous and we bear ‘fruit’ and multiply… this is awesome. We must at all costs be the righteousness of Yahweh in our talk, walk and entire lifestyle, because He is coming looking for a bride without spot or wrinkle. This means just what it says….we are called to be righteous people. The Scripture portion continues with the law of the Nazir who takes no part in wine, lets his or her hair grow long, and is forbidden to become contaminated through contactwith a dead body. Taking a Nazirite vow is for a period of time and through the Scripture I believe that I am right to say that the only two life time Nazirities were Prophet Samuel and Sampson:

Judges 13:7 “And He said to me, ‘See, you are conceiving and bearing a son. And now, drink no wine or strong drink, nor eat any uncleanfood, for the youth is a Nazirite to Elohim from the womb to the day of his death.’ ” 1 Samuel 1:11”And she made a vow and said, “OYahweh of hosts, if You would indeed look on the affliction of your female servant and remember me, and not forget your female servant, but shall give your female servant a male child, then I shall give him to Yahweh all the days of his life, and let no razor come upon his head.”

This is how we know that they are set apart to a Nazirite vow. It would be a beautiful thing to cut off anything that keeps us separated for The Father. Things of this world such as traditions, some traditions that the church has picked up are of pagan origin and need to be searched out before going any further. It is time that someone takes a stand against things that need to be ‘shaved’ off such as idols and false holidays. Yahweh still cries “You shall have not other god before me or against My Face!” This in all its truth speaks to the Laws of jealousy. Man made traditions that are taken from pagan roots like the winter solstice or christmas…this holiday wasn’t even celebrated in the US until the mid 1700's as it was referenced as a day of revelry and drunkenness..I ask you has that changed? We know for a fact that Messiah wasn’t born on December 25 so why is His birth celebrated then?  Then there’s the pagan day called easter...named after the pagan goddess ashter. Messiah and the Apostles celebrated Passover as He Is our Passover Lamb. The Roman Emperor Constantine who was a sun worshipper decided to change that in 325 A.D. during the council of Nicea. Instead of Passover easter was instituted, the Seventh Day Sabbath was switched to the first day sabbath and all were instructed to heed or die. It would be to our advantage that if we don’t know something concerning what we think that we believe that we would go to someone who would know. We need to have the mentality of Nicodemus and seek out the Truth even if you have to go by night, because searching for the Truth will bring Yahweh’s Light into your life. Yahweh’s Appointed Times should be the days that we celebrate not the gods of Babylon and ancient Mesopotamia.

What does Yahweh see when He looks at you? Does He see the Blood of Yahshuah (I hope so) or does He see you hiding your face and turning to other gods. It’s time to make a choice:

Joshua 24:15 “And if it seems evil in your eyes to serve Yahweh, choose for yourselves this day whom you are going to serve, whether the mighty ones which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the mighty ones of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But I and my house, we serve Yahweh.”

Shalom and Blessings!
